CEOS.PP contributes to the book 'Contemporary Migrations, Human Rights and Justice'

CEOS.PP – Centre for Organisational and Social Studies at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto – contributes to the book Contemporary Migrations, Human Rights and Justice, published by Pactor, with the chapter “Contributions of the ENFEM project to the construction of a humanistic model for the integration of international women into the labour market”.

The chapter was written by Ana Luísa Martinho, Helena Salazar, Joana Fernandes, Joana Querido, Manuel Silva, Paula Carvalho, Susana Bernardino and Tiago Fernandes, CEOS.PP researchers involved in the ENFEM project – Female TCNs Integration in Local Communities through Employability and Entrepreneurship Local Oriented Strategies, funded by the AMIF programme – Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.

Based on the work developed by CEOS.PP within the scope of ENFEM, the chapter analyses the challenges faced by third-country nationals (TCNs) in accessing the labour market and education in the European Union, with a particular focus on the Portuguese context. Several initiatives promoted by the project are highlighted, such as open days, b-learning courses and the Hospitality for International Students (HEI) initiative.

The text also proposes an intervention model centred on a humanistic approach to integration, in line with the principles of equity, inclusion and social justice that guide the work of CEOS.PP as an applied research unit.
