Cláudia Teixeira, lecturer at ISCAP and researcher at CEOS.PP, gave a talk on Accounting education today: Potential and Impact at the 6th Scientific Conference of the Master's in Accounting and Finance at APNOR, dedicated to the theme Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in Accounting and Finance.

The 6th Scientific Conference of the APNOR Master's Degree in Accounting and Finance, held on 31 May at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA), brought together more than 70 participants, including students and teachers from APNOR's partner institutions: IPCA, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) and the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC). Throughout the day, a dynamic space was promoted for sharing, reflection and debate on the impacts and opportunities that Artificial Intelligence (AI) represents for the areas of accounting and finance.

One of the highlights of the plenary session was the presentation by ISCAP lecturer and CEOS.PP researcher Cláudia Teixeira, who gave a talk on Accounting education today: Potential and Impact. This analysis was conducted based on the literature (e.g. Ballantine et al., 2024; QAA, 2025), the activities and resources developed by professional associations (e.g. ICAEW) and accounting research networks (e.g. BAFA, EAA, GRUDIS); and debate surrounding the use of AI in the context of higher education (e.g. The Times Higher Education).

The 6th Scientific Conference of the Master's Degree in Accounting and Finance at APNOR has thus established itself as a forum of excellence for scientific updating, critical reflection and discussion on the emerging challenges of the digital age in the teaching and practice of accounting and finance.
