Name of the Project: VRP4Youth - Innovative Integration between Virtual Reality and Rapid Prototyping for Youth

Project Number: 2022-1-TR01-KA220-YOU-000089257

Project Coordinator: Gazi Universitesi (Turkey)

Type of Project: Cooperation partnerships in youth

Project Lifetime: 1st of January 2023 until 31st of December 2024

Partners:

Raptor Teknoloji ve Mühendislik Ltd. Sti. (Turkey)

Kungliga Tekniska Hoegskolan (Sweden)

GODESK S.R.L. (Italy)

Instituto Politécnico do Porto (Portugal)

Association of Academicians Union (Turkey)

Aims and Objectives: Italy, Portugal, Turkey, and Sweden are among the top 10 countries with highest unemployment rates in Europe. The long-term goal of the project is contributing to the employment of youth in Turkey, Sweden, Romania, Portugal, and Europe. The most important short-term objective of the project is closing the skill/competency mismatch of 100 unemployed young people regarding virtual reality (VR) and Rapid Prototyping (RP) technologies for product design and development over the 24 months of the project. The project consists of one coordinating institution (Gazi University) and five partners from five different countries; Turkey, Sweden, Romania, and Portugal.

Overall Objective:

  • The main objective of the project is to provide VR and RP skills to unemployed youth who cannot acquire competencies related to new generation technologies in formal education processes, and to gain the ability to use these two technologies in an integrated way in design and production processes. In this respect, the project directly addresses the main priority of the project, "increasing quality, innovation and recognition of youth work".

Specific Objectives:

The project will prioritise the following issues while achieving them:

  • To ensure the adaptation of youth to new technologies by integrating VR and RP technologies into product design and production processes

  • Creating hard and soft documents for the education of youth

  • To promote VR and RP approaches in product design and development on an international scale

  • Standardising VR and RP education and creating an interactive learning environment in Europe

  • To strengthen and promote the technological interaction between VR and RP related institutions and organisations and their applications in Europe.
