Maria Clara Pires

Associate Researcher

PhD in Management, with honours, 2010/07/02, from the University of Évora. She has a Master of Monetary and Financial Economics from the Lisbon School of Economics & Management (ISEG). She has been a professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, in the Business Sciences department, since 1998. Over the last 25 years, she has always dedicated herself to teaching, an area she considers to be central to all her roles. As well as teaching, for several years, she has co-ordinated a Bachelor of Business Management, a Master of Accounting and Finance, postgraduate courses and other study cycles. She has always dedicated herself to research. At master's and PhD level, she focused on Banking, where she has produced a number of articles on Profitability, Risk, Performance, Solvency and Capital Buffer. Nevertheless, she is interested in other areas such as Corporate Finance, Econometric Models, Intellectual Capital, Green Bonds, among others.
