Catarina Lucas

Catarina holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Vigo (Spain), whose research work was awarded the Extraordinary Doctoral Prize. It was funded by a PhD grant from the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (Portugal). She holds a Bachelor of Mathematics and a Master of Engineering Mathematics from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, Portugal. Since 2002, she has been working as a Mathematics teacher at secondary and university level. Her research interests are related to Differential Calculus, Statistics, Modelling, Teaching Education, and Digital Literacy. She has collaborated in the supervision of international research projects, and as a member of juries of PhD and Master theses in different countries. She has worked as a research statistician in the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto, in the Epidemiology research unit. Now, she is the Mathematics coordinator of ISPGAYA.
