About the Event

On May 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., ISCAP Room 013-2 will host the seminar “Skills of the Adult Population in Portugal and Business Needs: Results of the Employers Module of PIAAC - Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies, OECD”.

This event will be attended by João Queirós, Professor at the Polytechnic of Porto's School of Education, Researcher at the University of Porto's Institute of Sociology and Deputy National Coordinator of PIAAC (2019-2024), who will share the latest results of PIAAC, an OECD program that assesses the skills of adults in various countries, focusing on the needs of the labor market.

During the session, the relationship between the skills of the adult population in Portugal and the demands of companies will be discussed, with the aim of identifying possible gaps and proposing solutions for better integration between the education system and the world of work. The analysis of the results of the PIAAC Employer Module contributes to a reflection on the qualifications needed and the challenges faced by organizations in recruiting professionals.

This seminar offers a unique opportunity for professionals in the field, students and researchers to deepen their knowledge of the skills of the adult population in Portugal and how these skills align with market needs.

Take part and contribute to the discussion on the future of skills in the job market!
