CEOS.PP is a partner of IO2025 - National Operational Research Congress dedicated to sustainable entrepreneurship

CEOS.PP - the Center for Organizational and Social Studies of the Polytechnic of Porto - will be an institutional partner of IO2025, the 24th edition of the APDIO (Portuguese Operational Research Association) Congress, which will take place from September 7 to 9, 2025, in Amarante. With the theme “Operational Research for Sustainable Entrepreneurship”, the event proposes an in-depth reflection on the role of science in building effective and responsible solutions to contemporary organizational, economic and social challenges.

Recognized as the main national forum in the field of Operations Research, the congress will bring together researchers, academics, students and professionals to present and discuss theoretical, methodological and applied advances in areas such as optimization, decision support, logistics, data science and statistical analysis. The event combines scientific sessions, presentations of best practices, and networking spaces between the academic community and the business sector.

The Call for Papers is open until June 7, encouraging the submission of original abstracts (in Portuguese or English) via the Indico platform. Applications are also open for EstudIO - a space dedicated to student research - and the Isabel Themido Award, which recognizes outstanding work.

By joining IO2025, CEOS.PP is reinforcing its commitment to applied science, knowledge transfer and promoting a culture of sustainable innovation. This partnership contributes to consolidating the center's mission to foster dialogue between research, organizational practice and regional development.

The conference will be hosted in two emblematic venues in the city of Amarante: the Cine-Teatro de Amarante and the Escola Secundária de Amarante, reflecting the spirit of proximity and involvement with the local community.
