FCT published the Notice of Opening of the Annual Call for PhD Scholarships

FCT has published the Notice of Call for Proposals for Doctoral Research Grants in all Scientific Domains 2023. The call will be open from 1 March until 17h00 (Lisbon time) on 31 March 2023. Applications are submitted electronically on the myFCT portal.

Anyone who is, or meets the conditions to be, enrolled in a study cycle leading to a doctoral degree, in any area of knowledge, and intends to develop research activities to obtain that degree, may apply.

In addition to applications in all scientific areas and with research work to be developed in scientific and academic institutions to be submitted in the general application line, a specific application line is opened for research grants whose work plans partially take place in one or more non-academic entities. As part of the pursuit of a public policy for advanced training based on research with social relevance, FCT will thus strengthen in 2023 the connection between the work plans developed in an academic environment and the business and social fabric, in a broad sense, which includes companies, public, social, health, cultural entities or other interface institutions.

The number of grants to be awarded is 1450 (one thousand four hundred and fifty), of which a maximum of 400 (four hundred) will be allocated to the specific application line for work plans in non-academic entities.

In addition to these grants awarded within the scope of the national call, FCT annually makes available a wide range of doctoral grants framed within protocols with various national and international entities. For more information please consult the Calendar of calls under protocols below.
