António Godinho

António Lencastre Godinho has been president of ISLA – Polytechnic Institute of Management and Technology since 2000.
He obtained his bachelor's degree, master's degree and PhD in “Computation” from UMIST – University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, United Kingdom, in 1979, 1980 and 1982 respectively.
Before opting for an academic career in 1984, he was a consultant for several companies and created a department for the development and commercialisation of computer systems with representations of hardware and software.
In 1992, he founded SISQUAL WFM, a world leader in the area of Workforce Management, which can be found in Portugal, Brazil, Spain, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Poland.
With several publications in national and international conferences, his main research areas focus on Automation of Information Systems Development and Information Technology in Education.
