Professor Jill Atkins promotes the webinar Rewilding and De-extinction: Exploring their Financing, Accounting and Accountability, as part of the cycle

The ISCAP/IPP Accounting Webinar Series, on 25 September at 9:30.


The event is part of the activities developed by CEOS.PP and is integrated into the activities of the curricular units of the Degree in Accounting and Administration; Degree in Consultancy and Translation; Degree in Business Communication; Master's Degree in Accounting and Finance; Master's Degree in Corporate Finance; and Master's Degree in Management and Legal-Empresarial Regime of the Social Economy.


Jill Atkins, Professor of Accounting at Cardiff Business School and the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, conducts research focussing on corporate governance, responsible investment, sustainability, integrated reporting and extinction accounting. She is the editor of the de Gruyter Studies in Corporate Governance series and is directly involved in editing its manuscripts. She edited The Business of Bees: An Integrated Approach to Bee Decline and Corporate Responsibility, a long-term project investigating the role of accounting and responsible investment in preserving biodiversity. She also wrote and edited Around the World in 80 Species: Exploring the Business Case for Extinction Prevention, published by Routledge in 2019, as well as Extinction Governance, Accounting and Finance, co-authored with Martina Macpherson. Atkins is also one of the authors of the book Chief Value Officer: Accountants Can Save the Planet and her reference book, Corporate Governance and Accountability, is now in its 5th edition.


Professor Atkins' academic qualifications include a BA Hons (First Class) in European Economics with a Licence in Economic Sciences from the University of Nantes, an MA in Corporate and International Finance from Durham University and a PhD in Finance from the University of Manchester. She is recognised throughout the ESG investment and governance industry as a thought leader and is regularly invited to speak at international practitioner and academic events on sustainability accounting, finance and governance.
